5 examples of heat embossing on glass

Friday, April 14, 2017

Hello, and welcome to my blog! I'm pretty new to this and there's a 75% chance that I will find this post in 4 years time and realise I failed horribly at maintaining this blog (no really, as I set this up I found my attempt at doing this very thing 4 years ago... I deleted the evidence)

A brief introduction: I'm Hannah, I'm 22 and I'm a web designer in England. I also enjoy getting away from computers from time to time so am currently learning how to letter and do modern calligraphy. I also love being behind a camera and imagining music videos in my head as I listen to music. Some other things I enjoy massively are: watercolours, books, films, cats, food, travelling, pens, beaches and kickboxing.

So, to the point of this post: recently I've become mildly addicted to heat embossing on glass...

Whether it's making a personalised vases for anyone I possibly can or just adding something to brighten up my pen and brush storage I'm whipping out my heat tool and making everything have shiny lettering on it!

If anyone would appreciate a tutorial on how to heat emboss on to glass I'd gladly do one, I've mainly been self teaching but it's a great way to make plain things more personal. I'm planning on embossing on to ceramics over the weekend so I'll post how that goes! I'm also hoping to open up an etsy store soon and do some local craft fairs so expect to find me documenting here my experiences as I start to venture into unknown territory...
